		<description><![CDATA[I am worried about this sort of attack on bike/ped funding, particularly as my state (RI) has one of the highest % of deficient bridges and poor roadways.  This is due to no fault of the bike community, but there were political decisions to build some expensive new highway projects and defer maintenance on many old ones.  RIDOT has been supportive of biking and built some great bikeways, but the current bike projects are mainly based on old earmarks and our stressed-out RIDOT may not be willing to put regular highway $$ into the bike program unless mandated, and political attacks such as the above will reinforce that tendency.]]></description>
