Although the number of approved projects with bicycle components is not as many as was hoped, these are significant investments. It would be interesting to track the progress of these projects over time in order to provide justification for future funding of similar approaches.

We are a grassroots program to change the culture of travel for ALL forms.
Bikes, scooters, feet, taxis, etc.. when travelers act entitled, everyone suffers. We are working with the schools, libraries, business associations and the Police Dept.
But we are unlucky in securing funding because we don't focus just on bikes, or just on walking.
Any ideas?
thanks
in peace and safety,

I am skeptical about how well some the TIGER grants rely promote bicycling.. I know the Revere MA project will primarily funded auto parking.. Local bicyclists have not been consulted on how the money will be used to better accomodate bicycling.. Throw in a few bikes racks and suddenly a parking garage is a bicycle friendly project..
