Climate Ride: California Style

Last June, I attended a bicycling event in New York City where among the great people doing important work to promote bicycling were two particularly friendly and charming individuals — Caeli Quinn and Blake Holiday. Caeli is the co-founder/director and Blake is the ride director of Climate Ride, a fully supported, 5-day fundraising bike ride for environmental and bicycling organizations. Since 2008, the route has taken them from New York City’s Central Park to the steps of the US Capitol in Washington, DC. They have just announced a the addition of a California ride this year. It will be “climate conference on wheels” that will go from Eureka, CA to San Francisco. They are good folks — their site is worth checking out.
