Oprah’s No Phone Zone Day

Back in January, we told you that distracted driving had a new enemy and that her name was Oprah. Now to close out Distracted Driving Awareness Month Oprah has declared today No Phone Zone Day.

Sign the pledge to make your car a No Phone Zone!

The Oprah Show is live today with locations all over the country, including at the Newseum in DC with Gail King and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood. Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm will be signing her state’s new texting ban live on the show.

Find the Oprah Show in your area.

You can also get your hands on a new cell phone application that freezes your phone so you can’t text, talk or browse, when travelling at over ten miles an hour.

I ride 6 miles to work every day I can (will not ride in snow). I have seen many times what talking on a phone can do a drivers ability to concentrate of driving. Please pull over if you must talk while driving. A 4000 pound car can be a deadly weapon.

  2. Andrea Says:

They say that texting while driving is just as bad (if not worse) than drunk driving. I am not a big fan of it. Terribly distracting. People should have more sense than that but I guess they don’t. It is sad.
