Great story on the 101 Class. I am in the process of setting up classes in Fort Worth, Texas.
Thanks for the bus tips as well. I am fortunate enough to ride one 4 lane road into town and I encounter buses throughout my trip.

The outdoor assets and amenities of Roanoke are tremendous and recent efforts to promote the quality of life have been embraced by all media outlets in Roanoke. It isn’t hard to get on TV if you have a relevant message and find the right contact. They’re always looking for stories…if you can hand them one it makes their life easier.

That was wonderful- I like that she pushed the “We are vehicles and we stop for lights and signs.” Nice PR plug for responsible vechicular cycling.

The last couple times we had bicycling articles in the BombTown paper, some of us in the cycling community ghost wrote parts of them. Sometimes you have to be sneaky.

Excellent post, both the TV spot and the bus tips! It would be interesting to know how Barbara managed to get the TV station interested in promoting her classes. Maybe someone in management there is a cyclist?
