This is from Elizabeth Mesh, one of the key supporters of the 5 foot to pass legislation now sitting on Governor Martinez’s desk. It is posted on the BikeAbq.org site. If you live in New Mexico and support this bill, please act now.

Please sign the petition below, even if you have already called the Governor's office. Just write your name and the city that you live in in an email and send it back to artisthire@yahoo.com

PETITION TO NEW MEXICO GOVERNOR MARTINEZ

Whereby SB124, the bill to pass bicyclists with a 5 feet safe passing distance, has been passed by the 2011 New Mexico House and Senate thereby representing the majority consent of the people of New Mexico.

Whereby SB124 as a law that will simply clarify an already existing safe passing law for cyclists.

Whereby SB124 will bring greater safety to more New Mexicans without using any finances.

We the people of New Mexico implore the Governor Martinez to sign SB124 into a law as soon as possible.
