Every year, the Arizona Bicycle Club has a ride in Grand Canyon National Park. The effect of this regulation would be to force all club riders to use narrow pathways already full of thousands of tourists looking at everything except their fellow trail users - an invitation to disaster. It would be very likely that National Park Service would refuse to issue a permit for the ride, citing "safety" - and another club tradition (and fundraiser) would disappear forever.

This same situation could easily happen on many other Federal lands, and would make the routing of nation-spanning US Bicycle Routes very difficult when encountering Federal parkland.

I guess Amish buggies have to use the buggy path, farm equipment on the farm track, busses and trucks share the truck lane and Ferraris can shove Chevys off the road entirely...

I signed the petition and added my 3.5 cents...

In Ohio a bicycle is the same under the law as a car. Forcing bicycles off the road and onto side paths is like saying if your has less that 400 horse power you can not use the road and must use the dirt road that is some where near the main road by that way you will not be slowing down the larger faster vehicles.

Where will this lead to next... banishing all trucks from the highway?

The titles used by government(s) here turned into limp-wristed P.R. is getting stranger and stranger. Are we dumb and uninformed? I guess our politicians think so. They may be right. Does "Operation Enduring Freedom" mean something other than propaganda? What happened to red-blooded titles like "Operation Overlord?" Would "OEF" go over in World War II?
Now we have these dumbed-down excresences such as "Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act"
An act with that title sounds like something coming out of the Soviet Politboro in the 50s.
 What have we Americans become?
