On a recent organized ride there was a group of three women doing the distance (70 mile) option. One thing more women riding is more likely to lead to more kids riding, especially to school. That is because if women think it is safe to ride, they are more likely to encourage their kids to do so. Although there have been some awesome dads out there on the NBC getting their kids to ride or inspiring them by their actions …

While I cannot attest to the delicate differences between male and female riders, I CAN attest to the difference between male and female drivers…..at least from a bikers perspective. ;)

It’s been proven that the more bikes there are on the road, the safer it is for bikers (more bikes = more awareness of bikes by motorists and a higher comfort level for them). Plus I find female bikers to be more courteous than their male counterparts… but that’s another thing altogether.
